Anonymous: What's a trend that you think you might be trying this season? Pretty blog btw

Probably peplum? I don’t really like my stomach so I feel like that would be a good way to hide it.

Anonymous: what is haute couture? like I always here people talking about it but I don't actually know what it means.

Well in short, the term is used loosely to describe all high-fashion custom-fitted clothing, whether it is produced in Paris or in other fashion capitals such as Milan, London, New York and Tokyo. Haute couture clothing is one of a kind and often made with the most intricate, expensive and high quality materials. What’s more, haute couture pieces are made by the most experienced seamstresses. Most collections are prêt-à-porter (which means ready to wear). This is a less prestigious label and  the collection cannot be known as haute couture. To earn the right to use the label ‘Haute Couture’, members of the Chambre syndicale de la haute couture must follow these rules:

  • Design made-to-order for private clients, with one or more fittings.
  • Have a workshop (atelier) in Paris that employs at least fifteen people full-time.
  • Must have 20 full time technical people in at least one atelier or workshop.
  • Each season (i.e., twice a year), present a collection to the Paris press, comprising at least thirty-five runs/exits with outfits for both daytime wear and evening wear.
Anonymous: Where do you usually shop?

Zara is my heaven, it’s like affordable luxury at it’s best. When I have the money (which is not very often) I do like going to London and when I do, I generally go to Harvey Nichols. I used to like Topshop but now most of their stuff is kind of try-hard hipster and that’s not really my style, however, I still do go there for some of my jewellery. When looking for other jewellery I do like to look in charity and antique shops because you never know what you might find. Also American Apparel is the best for the basics. But Zara mostly.

Anonymous: what does pret-a-porter mean?

It means ready to wear. Basically it’s designer clothing that is seen on the catwalk that is, like the name suggests, ready to buy and ready to wear straight away.

Anonymous: where would you recommend to get nice/cool sunglasses?

Well it depends on your price range, if you have the money to spend:

1) Linda Farrow- This is probably my favourite designer glasses-wise, the shapes, colours and designs are just amazing.

2) The Row - One of my favourite brands and are definitely luxurious, although they are expensive

If you’re looking for cheaper prices, I would say:

1) Urban Outfitters -  They have a really good price range, but what’s more they have so much choice for whatever your style is.

2) Zara - Although they aren’t really known for sunglasses, I feel like Zara is definitely a place where I always look at whether I’m looking for clothes or accessories.

Anonymous: Who are your favourite models?

Well, I don’t really have favourite models per se, but I suppose that I like Anais Pouliot, Alex Wek and Ming Xi?

Anonymous: Hi sorry to bother you but I was just wondering, what everyday makeup do you usually do, like for school and stuff?

Hey there :) No don’t worry I love getting questions! Well normally I’ll use a medium to full coverage concealer, I use MAC Studio Sculpt concealer (it’s so lush and creamy) and apply it to my blemishes and dark circles (under my eyes, my nose, above my eyes because concealer is a really good primer for eyeshadow as well). Then I’ll use a light powder and put that all over my face , for this I use MAC Studio Finish Powder. After this, what I’ll do is get gel eyeliner, I generally use Bobbi Brown’s Long-Wear Eyeliner in No.1 Black ink and I’ll do like a cat-eye on my upper lid and then after this I’ll get some mascara and only put it on my lower lashes. I use DiorShow New Look (it’s a bit pricy, but seriously good). Hope this was helpful xx
